Experienced Welder​/Fabricator

Pay: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour (DOE)

McMahan Industrial Services is a locally owned and operated custom metal fabrication and structural welding company serving commercial and industrial clients throughout the Midwest. We are growing and looking to add an experienced shop fabricator to our team.

This position is shop-based and ideal for someone who takes pride in layout, fit‑up, and producing high‑quality fabricated assemblies. If you are an experienced fabricator who can read prints, work independently, and consistently turn out clean, accurate work — this role is for you.

• Fabricate structural steel and miscellaneous metals from drawings and sketches
• Perform layout, fit‑up, and welding of fabricated assemblies
• Weld carbon steel and stainless steel using MIG and TIG processes
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and dimensions
• Operate shop equipment including:
• CNC plasma table (preferred)
• CNC press brake (preferred)
• Saws, grinders, drills, and general fabrication tools
• Maintain quality standards, dimensional accuracy, and clean weld appearance
• Work efficiently with minimal supervision
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Collaborate with project managers and other shop personnel as needed

• 3+ years of shop fabrication experience (structural or miscellaneous metals preferred)
• Strong knowledge of carbon steel and stainless steel fabrication
• Proficient in MIG welding (TIG experience a plus)
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings
• Comfortable with layout, measuring, and fabrication tolerances
• Experience with CNC press brake and plasma table preferred but not required
• Self‑motivated with strong time‑management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional attitude and strong work ethic

Note: This is primarily a shop position
. Occasional field assistance may be requested, but regular travel is not required
.

• 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Occasional overtime may be available (not mandatory)
