Pre-Treatment Plant Technician

HK Solutions Group operates an industrial pre-treatment plant in Des Moines, IA to remove oils and metals from non-hazardous liquid, sludge and solid waste. We are seeking a Pre-Treatment Plant Technician. This is a full-time, day shift position. Primary working hours will be Monday-Friday 7-3:30.

JOB DUTIES

* Perform daily facility inspections and address deficiencies

* Track incoming/outgoing waste shipments

* Treat wastewater via oil/water separation, chemical precipitation and carbon absorption

* De-water and/or stabilize solid and sludge waste

* Monitor tank capacities to optimize plant capacity and function

* Operate vacuum trucks, skid loader, pumps and/or roll-off trucks in a safe manner

* Perform necessary housekeeping to keep work areas safe, clean and organized

* Follow all safety, security and compliance requirements

* Wear and properly use safety equipment at all times

ENVIRONMENT

* Lifting, climbing and bending

* Must be able to work on feet most of the day

* Varied weather working conditions in hot, cold and wet conditions

* Strong odors and smells

SKILLS & ABILITIES

* Industrial wastewater pre-treatment experience is preferred, but not required

* Facility maintenance experience is helpful

* Equipment operation (skid loader, forklift, etc.) experience is helpful
