EPI Power is seeking experienced Welders/Fabricators to join our newly opened, state‑of‑the‑art pre‑fabrication shop in Des Moines, IA. This role is an essential part of our team, helping build high‑quality electrical components for commercial and data center projects. Job Title: Welder/Fabricator
Location: Des Moines, IA
Employment Type: Full‑Time
- Perform MIG welding on various steel and metal components in accordance with AWS standards (TIG experience is a plus).
- Assemble welded parts and components according to project specifications.
- Ensure weld quality meets company and project requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Verify finished work meets quality standards and specifications.
- Safely operate welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Occasionally operate a forklift to move materials and components.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with additional fabrication shop duties as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
- Minimum 2–5 years of welding experience required.
- MIG welding experience required; TIG welding experience preferred.
- AWS certification required and ability to successfully pass a weld test.
- Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
- Familiarity with welding tools, fabrication equipment, and shop safety procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive, hands‑on tasks.
- Manual dexterity required to operate welding and fabrication equipment.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and work in various positions throughout the workday.
