Mailroom Lead Person

Location: Des Moines, IA

Salary: $22 per hour (based on experience) with a sign‑on bonus of $2,250.

• Coordinate post‑press operations during a designated shift to achieve on‑time production performance while maintaining product quality, accuracy, and operational safety.
• Provide hands‑on supervision of packaging functions, including training, onboarding, and addressing employee issues.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of inserts, confirm accurate product staging, and perform hands‑on packaging operator duties when needed.
• Operate preprint management systems, inserter drive controls and related reporting.
• Perform and verify inventory of strap, bottom wrap, consumable parts and supplies.
• Assist the Manager/Assistant Manager with packaging reports and web portal data entry.
• Conduct packaging operator training.

• Work in a safe manner and use required safety equipment, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and lead safety compliance within the department.
• Complete required annual OSHA safety training programs.
• Report work‑related injuries to the insurance carrier and ensure all machine safety guards are installed and functioning.
• Report operational concerns, potential safety hazards, accidents, injuries, and near misses to packaging management.

• Provide timely and accurate information to management as required.
• Communicate equipment repair status and consumable material needs to upper management.
• Notify packaging supervisors and/or management of scheduling needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
