Job Description WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Operators will lead in all aspects of operation of rewind/slitter lines including change-overs, machine start-up, running and shut-down.
  • Support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.
  • Run all jobs in accordance with customer specification, manufacturing specification, and standard operating procedures.
  • Adjust machine specifications, pressures, and equipment for each job.
  • Ensure all appropriate paperwork is filled out accurately and completely.
  • Work with and direct the rewind assistant and other teammates to minimize job change-over and down time.
  • Train and direct the rewind assistant to become efficient at all the required assistant duties defined in each level of the assistant training matrix on time.
  • Perform standard quality assurance tests and other tests as required.
  • Operate the doctor winder or run rework on assigned machine.
  • Monitor and maintain quality by removing flagged defects and looking for unflagged defects.
  • Also know and understand the role in product safety.
  • Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs.
  • Willing and able to stand and walk for a 12 hour shift.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.
  • Frequent use of wrist and hands.
  • Frequent stepping up and down from platforms.
  • Reasonable accommodations will be considered on a case by case basis.

  • Previous manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs.
  • Possess adequate math, measurement, and reading skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environment.
