Operate a forklift to perform a wide variety of duties associated with loading and unloading steel. Additionally, the position requires the candidate to pass forklift training. Also required to perform other tasks, as assigned by his or her supervisor.

• Obtain supplies, position work and follow verbal or written instructions
• Perform a wide variety of duties associated with loading and unloading steel
• Move steel around in storage area and pull it for production requirements
• Maintain necessary records including daily forklift inspection
• Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
• Reports problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to supervisor
• Perform other duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position
• Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
• Desire to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic
• Follow all company rules and policies

• Adequate communication skills; verbal and written
• Ability to read and understand written instructions
• Must have knowledge of the various types of materials

• Physically able to do bending, twisting, gripping, grasping, stooping and lifting
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Physically able to stand for up to 8 hours
• Requires good hand-eye coordination
• Physically able to operate forklift.

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience/combined education

• Previous experience as a forklift operator preferred.
• Valid forklift certification is a plus.
• Proficient in computer skills, particularly with inventory management systems.
• Familiarity with scan guns and inventory tracking processes.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Strong ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and twist for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
