Description
We believe that every event is more than a date on the calendar;it’sa catalyst for change. Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowaexistto inspire and enable all young peoplein reaching their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
As a member of the Resource Development Team, the Events& Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for overall planning and execution ofall BGCCI’sspecial events.
Currently, the key events are Club Talent Show, Youth of the Year, and the Great Futures Golf Tournament.
The coordinator will also oversee thevolunteerprogram to include recruiting, training, and stewarding these individuals in support of events and Club programming.
Requirements
MAJOR DUTIES AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (Inclusive, but not limited to) :- Collaborate with the resource development team toemployinnovativeevent strategies such as event narratives, sponsorship packages,and donor engagement activities.
- Manage event budgets, timelines,event contracts,and vendor relationships to ensure seamless execution.
- Trackkey metrics for each event including attendance, donations, and engagement.
- Support the development and stewardship of individual, corporate, and foundation sponsor relationships that align with organizational priorities, mission impact, and fundraising objectives.
- Coordinate and implement the volunteer process from recruitment and onboarding torecognitionand retention.
- Manage andmaintainvolunteer softwareincludingactive volunteersateach Club siteand/or event.
- Serve as the liaison with Club operations staffregardingthe assignment, engagement, and retention of volunteers at their respective Club sites.
- Represent BGCCI at community and networking events to promote volunteer involvement and engagement.
- Promote and secure sponsorship and volunteers for seasonal Club events including Embrace a Family, Thanksgiving Meal Bags,and Trunk or Treat.
- Assist in the development of fundraising and stewardship materials related to events and volunteer programs for communication and reporting purposes.
GENERAL/OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL/OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Promote high ethical and professional standards in all interactions with agency staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners, including adherence to fundraising ethics and the confidentiality of donor information.
- Keep the supervisor informed of recurring, emerging, or significant issuesin a timely mannerand provide appropriate recommendations for resolution.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least two or more years of experience with event planning and volunteer management, to include work in donor relations. Nonprofit or mission-driven experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:- Proven expertise successfully managing special events employing strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with a knack for inspiring donors, volunteers, and partners.
- Outgoing and energetic, able to communicate and work wellwith awide variety of people and personality types.
- Goal-oriented withthe abilityto work independently and as part of a team tomeet deadlines and organizational goalsin a fast-paced environment.
- Data driven, with the ability to make a case for support and illustrate impact.
- Experience creating and managing budgets and financial reports.
- Proficient in Donor Perfect or comparable donor database.
- Passion for communicating BGCCI’s mission.
- Positive and professional attitude and demeanor.
- Valid Iowa State Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check.
