Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grants & Data Coordinator to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, drafting, and submitting compelling grant proposals to secure funding for our programs and initiatives. This role requires strong writing, research, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to build relationships with funders and align proposals with our mission and strategic goals.

As Data Coordinator, this individual will report and manage all aspects of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

Requirements MAJOR DUTIES AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (Inclusive, but not limited to) :
  • Research & Opportunity Identification:
    Identify and evaluate funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources that align with the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa.
  • Proposal Development:
    Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports tailored to each funder’s requirements.
  • Collaboration:

    Work with program staff, finance teams, and leadership to gather necessary data, budgets, and program details for proposals.
  • Grant Management:
    Track deadlines, monitor submission status, and follow up on proposals to ensure timely responses.
  • Reporting:
    Prepare and submit required reports to funders, detailing project progress, outcomes, and financial expenditures. This includes submission of data and tracking required for Federal grants such as Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) as well as collecting and maintaining local, state and national Boys & Girls Clubs statistics and information.
  • Database Management:
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and prospect information in Donor Perfect.
  • Contract Administration:
    Oversee the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) along with the Summer Food Program (SFP) from application and contract preparation to record maintenance and claims submissions.
  • Relationship Building:
    Develop and maintain positive relationships with funders and stakeholders to increase future funding opportunities.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure all proposals and reports meet grant requirements and guidelines. Maintain reporting compliance with food bank and USDA requirements for Feeding the Future Program.
  • Stewardship Materials:
    Write thank-you letters and briefing documents for donor stewardship and acquisition.
  • Knowledge Sharing:
    Stay updated on trends in grant funding and nonprofit sector changes to enhance grant-seeking strategies.
General/Other

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promote high ethical and professional standards in all activities and with all agency staff.
  • Maintain ethical standards established for fundraising professionals.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor information.
  • Ensure that supervisor is informed of any recurring or significant problems in a timely manner.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned.
POSITION

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required; bachelor’s degree in related fields preferred. Minimum two years’ work experience in grant writing, technical writing, or a related field; proven success in securing grants from multiple funding sources.
