Travel RN - Pediatric ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) night shift in Des Moines, IA, requiring 24 months of recent PICU experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Work in a 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with all private rooms,

• Care for critically ill or injured infants, children, and teens,

• Night shifts: three 12-hour shifts per week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday),

• No call required; holiday rotation if scheduled,

• Must be willing to float to NICU for select patient assignments and to ED patient holds as needed,

• EMR system used is Epic;
Epic experience required,

Job Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required at time of consideration,

• Minimum 24 months of recent PICU nursing experience required,

• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC) required,

• Epic EMR experience required,

• Driver's license required for consideration,

• Submission must include work history/resume with at least 24 months of recent PICU experience,

• Skills checklist in PICU required for consideration,

• Floats to the NICU will typically involve care for stable infants requiring oxygen or antibiotics, not the most critical cases,

• Supportive environment with pediatric critical care physicians and a pediatric transport team,

• Modern facility designed with family and patient comfort in mind, including private bathrooms and family lounge,

• Required to work a holiday rotation if scheduled,

• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility to qualify for standard travel pay rates; local positions have a reduced rate,

• Supervisory reference from within the past 24 months is preferred for consideration,
