Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with strong proficiency in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery and an active IA or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Position is in the hospital operating room,

• Requires circulating and operating room surgical experience,

• Expected to handle cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and general surgery cases,

• Additional cases include da Vinci robotics, pediatrics, trauma, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular surgery,

• Uses Epic EMR system, recent experience required,

Job Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required,

• Minimum of 2 years recent operating room RN experience,

• Demonstrated expertise in cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and general surgery,

• Proficiency with Epic EMR within the past 3 years,

• Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC required,

• Prior completed travel assignment within the past 12 months required,

• No consideration for first-time travelers,

• Driver's license required,

• Professional reference from a supervisor, manager, or director within the last 24 months preferred,

• Skills checklist specific to OR Nurse and scrub/scrubbing required,

• Scrub experience including open heart preferred,

• Trauma Level I and multidisciplinary case experience highly preferred,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating and, preferably, scrubbing for a wide variety of complex surgical procedures,

• Exposure to advanced surgical cases across multiple specialties,

• No first-time travelers will be considered,

• Team-oriented work environment in a Trauma Level I setting is highly preferred,

• Adherence to dress code and hospital policy required,

• References must be recent and from supervisory level,
