Travel Nursing Opportunity – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN – Nights

Must be willing to float to NICU and occasionally ED patient holds
Call & Weekend:
As scheduled
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide vigilant monitoring and rapid assessment of critically ill pediatric patients
- Manage ventilators and advanced life-support equipment
- Administer weight-based medications and continuous infusions
- Interpret vital signs, labs, and respond to changes in patient status
- Assist with invasive procedures and coordinate multidisciplinary interventions
- Maintain strict adherence to safety, sedation, and infection-control protocols
- Guide families with compassionate communication and education
Unit Highlights:
- 12-bed, all-private-room PICU with state-of-the-art equipment
- Pediatric Transport Team providing critical care access statewide
- Family-centered environment with private consultation and lounge areas
- Collaborative team of intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and specialized nurses
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Active RN license (Iowa or multistate compact)
- BLS and PALS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 24 months of recent PICU experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Strong critical thinking, emotional resilience, and ability to function in fast-paced, unpredictable situations
