Job Opportunity Position Overview
We are seeking qualified candidates for a night shift nursing position in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology department. This role involves 36 hours per week, primarily during the night from 7 PM to 7 AM, with weekend rotation required every third weekend, including holidays. The candidate may also be required to float to the Emergency Department (ED) for inpatient holds as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care for pediatric patients in the Hematology/Oncology unit.
- Float to the Emergency Department to care for inpatient holds when necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
- Pediatric nursing experience within the last 18 months is required.
- Experience in Hematology/Oncology nursing is essential.
- Proficient in using EPIC electronic medical systems, with experience within the last 12 months.
- Must have completed at least one travel nursing contract within the previous 18 months.
- APHON certification or documentation required.
- Work history demonstrating 24 months of Pediatric and/or Oncology experience.
- A skills checklist specific to Pediatric/Oncology nursing discipline is mandatory.
- Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license is required at the time of submission.
- A professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license documentation is required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC is mandatory.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification from AHA is also required.
