Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) – Hospice Care
Location: Iowa
Schedule: Full-Time
At Hillcrest, our Hospice Registered Nurses provide compassionate, patient-centered care that honors dignity, comfort, and quality of life. Hospice RNs play a vital role in supporting patients and families during end-of-life care by managing symptoms, coordinating care, and providing education and emotional support. Hospice nurses focus on improving comfort, monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and guiding families through the hospice journey.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in their home or care setting
- Assess patient condition, monitor symptoms, and manage comfort measures
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on disease progression, medications, and hospice philosophy
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, aides, and interdisciplinary team members
- Document patient care and communicate changes in condition promptly
- Provide compassionate emotional support to patients and loved ones
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Iowa or compact state)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if community-based role)
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and compassionate care approach
- Hospice, home health, or long‑term care experience preferred
- Meaningful, mission-driven work
