Overview

As a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be responsible for overseeing the health and well‑being of residents, implementing care plans, and providing expert nursing care in a facility that values compassion, transparency, and a collaborative work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Resident Care & Assessment
    • Conduct thorough assessments of residents’ health status, including physical, mental, and emotional well‑being
    • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on health needs and goals
    • Monitor health conditions, document changes, and communicate findings to physicians and care team
    • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical orders
    • Provide wound care, IV therapy, and other advanced medical treatments as required
    • Perform routine medical procedures such as vitals, injections, and dressing wounds in accordance with care protocols
  • Supervisory & Leadership Responsibilities
    • Supervise and support the nursing staff to ensure efficient and effective care duties
    • Provide guidance and training to ensure compliance with protocols and high standards of care
    • Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with leadership to maintain optimal resident care
  • Communication & Collaboration
    • Effectively communicate with residents, families, and the healthcare team for accurate and timely updates
    • Educate residents and families on care plans, treatment options, and preventive health measures
    • Coordinate care with physicians, dietitians, social workers, and other professionals to enhance the resident experience
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date medical records in compliance with regulations
    • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and state/federal regulations
    • Participate in regular care audits and review processes for quality improvement
  • Emergency Response & Crisis Management
    • Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, ensuring appropriate care and intervention
    • Provide immediate interventions and stabilize residents in critical situations following established protocols

Qualifications & Experience Requirements
  • Education
    • Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) required
    • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure & Certifications
    • Active, unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of Iowa
    • CPR and First Aid certification (or to be obtained upon hire)
    • Additional certifications such as wound care or IV therapy may be required or preferred
  • Experience
    • Previous experience in a nursing role, preferably in long‑term, skilled nursing, or geriatric settings
    • Experience in supervisory roles and leadership is a plus
