Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center position in Iowa, requiring at least 24 months of OR experience, Epic proficiency, and the ability to both scrub and circulate across multiple campuses.

Job Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting across multiple campuses (Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran),

• 16 OR suites with 12-14 running routinely; dedicated space reserved for trauma cases,

• Service lines include Cardiac/Peripheral Vascular, Neuro, Ortho (primarily trauma), Robotics, GYN, Urology, General, Pediatrics, Transplants, and limited ENT and Plastics,

• Average of 35-50 cases per day with an expected turnover time of under 20 minutes,

• 1:1 patient ratio,

• Special equipment includes 3 Da Vinci robotic systems, Stealth neuronavigation technology, and primarily Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma,

• Epic EMR in use,

• Schedule is Mon-Fri, 6:30a-5p, 4x10s with a rotating day off,

• On-call requirement of up to 1 overnight per week; weekend call coverage runs from Friday 5p through Monday 6:30a, up to 3 weekends per 13-week contract,

• Holiday rotation required; must work 1-2 of the following summer holidays:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,

• Floating required across all campuses,

• Scrubs are provided,

Job Requirements

• Active IA RN license or Compact/Multi-state RN license required,

• Active BLS certification (AHA) required,

• Minimum 24 months of current OR experience required,

• Circulating experience required; scrub experience highly preferred,

• Experience in General, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma cases required,

• Experience in Neuro, Ortho (primarily trauma), GYN, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, and ENT cases highly preferred,

• Trauma Level II experience required;
Trauma Level I experience highly preferred,

• Epic EMR experience within the previous 3 years required,

• Valid Driver's License required for consideration,

• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment within the previous 15 months (first-time travelers will not be considered),

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating and/or scrubbing across a wide range of surgical service lines,

• A supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 2 years is preferred for consideration,

• Candidates who were employed by the facility within the 12 months prior to their application may be subject to refusal,

• RTO is limited to 1 day during the Thanksgiving holiday window (11/26-11/30) and 1 day during the winter holiday window (12/23-1/2), regardless of holidays worked
