As an Inpatient Wound and Ostomy Care RN, you’ll serve as a trusted clinical expert, delivering consultation and hands‑on care for patients with abdominal stomas, wounds, fistulas, drains, pressure injuries, and incontinence.

Your impact extends beyond individual care—you’ll empower Patient Care Facilitators (PCFs) and nursing staff with the knowledge and support needed to deliver consistently exceptional outcomes.

A key focus of this role is driving prevention of hospital‑acquired pressure injuries, helping set the standard for quality and safety across the organization. • Participates in orientation of new staff, acts as a resource, supports preceptors and residency programs and identifies opportunities for staff development for newly oriented as well as all team members.
• Integrates the UnityPoint Health Des Moines Nursing Expectations of Performance in all aspects of care delivery and professional practice.
• Participates and coordinates the hospital‑acquired pressure ulcer program and prevalence and incidence survey and data collection.
