Travel RN - Acute Dialysis

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Dialysis position in Iowa, requiring a minimum of 24 months of dialysis experience including inpatient experience and proficiency with Fresenius machines.

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate RN license required
• Active BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
• Minimum 24 months of dialysis experience, including inpatient experience, required
• Telemetry read and measurement experience required
• Experience with Fresenius dialysis machines required
• Acute dialysis experience highly preferred
• Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates who were employed by the facility within the past 12 months are not eligible

• Hospital setting spanning two campuses:
  Iowa Methodist Medical Center (5 beds) and Iowa Lutheran Hospital (2 beds), with floating required across both locations
• Patient population includes remote telemetry and ICU patients requiring dialysis, including AKI and ESRD cases
• Patient ratio is 2:1
• Equipment used includes Fresenius 2008T machines (hemodialysis) and Baxter Homechoice Claria for peritoneal dialysis
• EMR system:
  Epic
• Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7a–7p, 36 hrs/week
• On-call rotation required among RNs; call hours are Mon–Fri 1900–2200, Saturday 1900–0700, and Sunday 0700–1900 or 1900–0600
• Holiday rotation required; travelers must work 1–2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
• Navy blue solid scrubs required
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Provide nursing care to acute dialysis patients across ICU and telemetry settings on both campuses
• One supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 2 years preferred for consideration
• RTO is limited to 1 day during the Thanksgiving week (11/26–11/30) and the Christmas/New Year's period (12/23–1/2), regardless of holidays worked
• Travelers will be required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays:
  Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
