From acute stroke interventions to complex surgical neurology cases, you’ll work with cutting‑edge technology, remote telemetry and a tight‑knit interdisciplinary team that thrives on collaboration and excellence.

You’ll also partner with Mercy One Ruan Neurology Care
, central Iowa’s largest and longest‑running comprehensive neurology clinic. Their experts use the newest research, innovative technologies and active clinical trials to create individualized treatment plans for conditions affecting the brain, spine and nerves. RN Responsibilities
  • As a RN at Mercy One, you will provide individualized, high‑quality nursing care to patients of all ages.
  • Use a team approach to delegate and coordinate patient care at admission, transfer, and discharge.
  • Independently deliver nursing care using the Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Medical Center policies, nursing standards, ethical principles, and professional judgment.
  • Work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Assess, plan, and implement nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
  • Practice safe patient handling techniques.
  • Continues to evaluate assigned patients and provides ongoing treatment.
  • Anticipates, identifies, and responds to educational and emotional needs of patients and families.
  • Guide and direct healthcare personnel (i.e., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients.
  • Maintains knowledge of equipment set‑up, maintenance, and use (e.g., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices). Utilize safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms to maximize patient safety.
  • Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury).
Schedule
  • 36 hours/week
  • 3, 12‑hour shifts
  • Days, and Nights Available
General Requirements
  • Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire.
