The Jump Start RN Program allows you to secure a full-time Registered Nurse role before graduation while receiving monthly financial support during the final months of your nursing program.

As our primary stroke unit, proudly recognized with The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center Certification, you'll be part of a team delivering some of the most advanced stroke and neurology care in the region. From acute stroke interventions to complex surgical neurology cases, you'll work with cutting-edge technology, remote telemetry and a tight-knit interdisciplinary team that thrives on collaboration and excellence.

You'll also partner with Mercy One Ruan Neurology Care, central Iowa's largest and longest-running comprehensive neurology clinic. Their experts use the newest research, innovative technologies and active clinical trials to create individualized treatment plans for conditions affecting the brain, spine and nerves. With seamless collaboration across Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurosurgery, and Pediatric Neurology, our patients receive coordinated, world-class care at every stage.

Our dedicated neuroscience nurse educators ensure every patient and family feels supported through one-on-one guidance and education. With Mercy One's leadership in stroke care and a mission-driven focus on exceptional outcomes, you'll be part of something truly impactful.

• Secure a full-time RN position before graduation
• Receive monthly financial support for up to 9 months before your start date

Interview with nursing leadership.

Receive a job offer and sign a Jump Start agreement.

Your position will be reserved for you until after graduation.

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program
• Expected graduation within approximately 9 months
• Eligible to work as a Registered Nurse upon successful completion of the program and licensure requirement

Participants receive monthly payments beginning with their Jump Start agreement and continuing through one month after graduation, for a maximum of 9 months.

This support is designed to help nursing students focus on their education while preparing for a successful transition into professional practice.

• Submit NCLEX and Iowa Board of Nursing fee receipts for reimbursement
• Complete the NCLEX-RN examination and obtain RN licensure
• Transition into their full-time Registered Nurse position
• Begin their nursing career with a team committed to professional growth and development
