Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a census of 24–26 beds and a patient ratio of 1:5–6 on nights
- Care for a diverse patient population including general, gynecological, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT cases
- Administer and manage heparin drips and titrations as required by patient care needs
- Document all patient care activities accurately using EPIC EMR
- Float across multiple campuses as required to meet unit staffing needs
- Participate in holiday coverage, with a requirement to work 1–2 of the upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
- AHA or ARC BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
- Patient care experience with general, gynecological, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT populations
- Heparin administration and management experience required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
- Current or recent Level II trauma experience required
- Must have completed at least one travel contract within the past 24 months — first-time travelers are not eligible
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Current or recent Level I trauma experience
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
