Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Des Moines, IA | Acute Care

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit serving general, gynecological, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT patient populations
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6 on night shift
• Administer and manage heparin drips and titrations
• Document all patient care activities accurately using EPIC EMR
• Float across multiple campuses as required to meet unit staffing needs
• Fulfill holiday coverage requirements, including 1–2 of the designated summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day), unless the unit is closed

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• BLS certification from AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) required
• Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Patient care experience in general, gynecological, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT populations
• Heparin drip/titration experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Current or recent Level II trauma experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the past 24 months (no first-time travelers)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

• Current or recent Level I trauma experience
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
