Key Responsibilities
  • Perform circulating and/or scrub duties across a high-volume operating room environment averaging 35–50 cases per day with turnover expectations under 20 minutes
  • Provide direct patient care at a 1:1 ratio across multiple surgical service lines including cardiac/peripheral vascular, neuro, orthopedic trauma, robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, and transplants
  • Operate and assist with specialized equipment including Da Vinci robotic systems, Stealth neuro-navigation technology, and Synthes/Stryker orthopedic trauma instrumentation
  • Participate in on-call coverage, including weekend call from end of Friday shift through Monday morning, and respond to trauma cases as required at a Level I trauma center
  • Float across multiple campuses as needed to support staffing across all affiliated surgical sites
  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic medical records
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 24 months of current operating room experience (hospital/medical center experience prioritized)
  • Demonstrated circulating experience in the OR
  • Experience in General surgery, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma cases
  • Trauma Level II experience required
  • EPIC EMR experience within the previous 3 years
  • Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
  • Active BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment within the previous 15 months (first-time travelers are not eligible)
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Scrub experience in the operating room is highly preferred
  • Trauma Level I experience is highly preferred
  • Additional surgical service line experience in neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, or vascular surgery
