American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 24+ months of OR circulating experience and Trauma Level II experience at a Level I trauma center in Des Moines, IA.

• Level I trauma center Operating Room with 16 OR suites, typically running 12-14 rooms
• 16-bed unit with 1:1 patient ratios
• Average caseload of 35-50 cases per day with turnover expectations under 20 minutes
• 3 Davinci robots on site, Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and Synthes/Stryker equipment for ortho trauma cases
• Service lines include Cardiac/PV, Neuro, ortho trauma, robotics, GYN, urology, general, pediatrics, transplants, and lower-volume ENT and plastics cases
• Both scrub and circulate responsibilities preferred
• Uses Epic EMR
• Days shift, 3x12s, 6:30a-7p, working weekends (Saturday and Sunday) with rotating Fridays or Mondays
• No on-call except weekend call which runs Friday end of shift through Monday 0630
• Required to float across Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist campuses
• 13-week assignment

• Active IA RN license or Compact/Multistate license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 24 months of current Operating Room circulating experience required, hospital/medical center experience prioritized
• Scrub experience highly preferred
• Required experience in General, DaVinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma cases
• Additional experience in Neurology, orthopedics (trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, or Vascular cases highly preferred
• Epic EMR experience within the previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level II experience required;
  Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
• Must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months; first-time travelers not accepted
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

• Circulate and/or scrub for a high-volume, high-acuity surgical caseload across multiple specialties
• Scrubs are provided
• Must work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments in another market within 12 months of separation; this restriction does not apply to those who previously worked travel assignments at UnityPoint Health
