ResponsibilitiesAssist physicians during patient exams and procedures
Room payients, record patient histories, vital signs, and document in the electronic health record (EHR)
Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure
Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care
Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups
Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
- Valid and current licensure/certification in one of the following:
- Registered Nurse (RN) – Active/Unencumbered RN license in state of practice or compact license including state of practice.
- OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Active/Unencumbered LPN license in state of practice or compact license including state of practice.
- OR Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required:
- National Healthcare Association
- American Association of Medical Assistants
- National Center for Competency Testing
- National Certified Medical Assistant
- National Association of Health Professionals
- American Registry of Medical Assistants
- American Allied Health
- American Medical Technologists
- Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
- Familiarity with EPIC is a plus!
- For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or to float to other locations to support optimized staffing
