American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Trauma Level II experience and specialized case exposure in a high-volume, Level I trauma center.

• Operating Room department within a hospital setting with a 16-bed unit and 16 OR suites, typically running 12-14 rooms
• Days shift, Monday-Friday, 4x10s with a 6:30am start time and rotating day off, 40 hrs/week
• Call requirements include one overnight per week and three weekends per 13-week contract, with weekend call running from end of shift Friday until 6:30am Monday
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Average caseload of 35-50 cases per day with an expectation of turnovers under 20 minutes
• Service lines include Cardiac/PV, Neuro, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Robotics, GYN, Uro, General, Pediatrics, and Transplants, with smaller volumes of ENT and Plastics
• Utilizes 3 Davinci robots, Stealth technology for Neuro navigation, and Synthes or Stryker equipment for ortho trauma cases
• Uses Epic EMR
• Required to float across multiple campuses including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist
• Both scrub and circulating responsibilities preferred

• Active RN license (IA state or compact/multistate) required at time of consideration
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 24 months of current Operating Room experience required, with hospital/medical center experience prioritized
• Circulating experience required; scrub experience highly preferred, including orthopedic scrubbing experience
• Required case experience in General, Davinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma
• Highly preferred additional case experience in Neurology, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, and Vascular
• Epic EMR experience required within the previous 3 years
• Trauma Level II experience required;
  Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
• Must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months; first-time travelers not considered
• Driver's license required for consideration

• Scrubs are provided
• Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of 3 upcoming Winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered, as no local candidates are accepted
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments in another market within 12 months of separation
• One professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months is preferred
