American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift, 13-week contract requiring recent travel experience, heparin drip management, and post-op/spine care experience.
Details- Med Surg unit with 30 beds caring for medical surgical and post-op/spine patients
- Utilizes heparin drips as part of patient care
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/week, Monday through Friday
- Weekend rotation required every third weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Required to float across multiple campuses including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6 on nights
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum 24 months of med surg/medical surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
- Strong heparin drip experience required
- Post-op/surgical experience required
- Spine care experience required required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Minimum 3 months of current travel nursing experience within the past 12 months required, first-time travelers not considered
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Professional reference from a supervisor, manager, director, or C-suite within the past 24 months preferred
- Deliver direct patient care to med surg and post-op/spine surgical patients
- Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
- Scrubs required: solid navy blue
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
- Prior UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are not eligible for travel assignments in another market within 12 months of separation
- Limited time-off requests permitted during peak holiday weeks in late November and late December
