American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 24 months of Med Surg/Tele experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

• Med/Surg unit in a regional hospital setting with a 24-bed capacity
• Patient population includes general med surg care with overflow of post-op surgical hip/knee patients and possible overflow psych patients
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1
• Utilizes heparin drips with remote tele tech unit monitoring
• 4x12 hour day shifts totaling 48 hrs/week, with 36 hrs/week accommodated if preferred
• Schedule includes Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon or 3 weekend days plus a 4th weekday shift at RN discretion
• Weekend work required as scheduled
• No on-call requirements
• No blocked shifts permitted
• Floating required across multiple campuses:
  Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist
• Epic EMR used

• Active IA or compact/multistate RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 24 months of current Med Surg/Medical Surgical/Med Surg Tele experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Precepting experience preferred
• Psych patient care experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

• Provide med surg and telemetry nursing care including overflow post-op orthopedic and psych patients as needed
• Holiday rotation required, including 1-2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) unless the unit is closed
• Limited time-off requests during peak holiday periods
• Scrub color requirement: solid navy blue
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Extension beyond the initial 13-week contract is preferred by the department
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) may be restricted from travel assignments in other markets depending on separation history
