American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 24 months of PICU experience and an active IA or compact RN license.
Details- 12-bed all-private-room PICU staffed by pediatric critical care physicians at a dedicated children's hospital
- Cares for critically-ill or injured infants, children, and teens
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (Fri, Sat, Sun), 36 hrs/week
- Every 4th weekend required
- Minimal on-call responsibilities as needed
- Required to float to NICU, General Pediatrics, and ED patient holds as needed
- When floated to NICU, assigned to stable 'feeders and growers' patients rather than the most critical infants
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Equipment used includes ventilators, high-flow devices, Alaris IV pumps, and feeding pumps
- Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
- BLS (AHA or ARC) and PALS (AHA) certifications required
- Minimum 24 months of current PICU/Pediatric Intensive Care experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Experience with ventilators and high-flow equipment highly preferred
- Experience with Alaris IV pumps and feeding pumps highly preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred
- Part of a care team supporting critically-ill pediatric patients in a family-centered care environment
- Unit features private patient rooms, family consultation rooms, and family lounges
- Pediatric Transport Team provides higher level of care access to children statewide under medical direction of pediatric critical care or emergency medicine physicians
- Holiday rotation required, including 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from working travel assignments at other UnityPoint Health markets
