Position: Laboratory Technician I - Microbiology

Shift & Location

Microbiology – Mid shift – Mon – Fri (noon – 8:30pm) or Tue – Fri (noon – 8:30pm) + Sat (9am – 5:30pm).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate and promote the company vision.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Read, understand and follow management system requirements (Quality Manual, SOPs, etc.) ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025/AOAC ALACC and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations; maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Register incoming samples and maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Enter sample data into Eurofins eLIMS system timely and accurately.
  • Complete laboratory testing on all incoming samples accurately, efficiently, and on time, meeting sample turnaround time goals.
  • Verify results and submit to appropriate personnel for transmission in a timely manner.
  • Identify process difficulties and report them with proposed solutions to supervisor.
  • Remain ready to respond to queries and needs of clients, staff, and co-workers.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with all employees; communicate orally and in writing.
  • Promote the company image through sound ethical business practices.
  • Continually strive to improve quality of work through existing and new technologies.
  • Identify non‑conformances and out‑of‑specifications.
  • Conduct all activities safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

High school diploma required. AS or BS degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or a related field with experience in plating, plate reading, and sample preparation.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Responsive, independent problem solver and action oriented.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree or with 1+ years experience.

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
