Wendler Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist with a strong background in civil infrastructure construction, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, flood mitigation structures, deep foundations, structural concrete, and high-voltage electrical projects.

Wendler Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist with a strong background in civil infrastructure construction, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, flood mitigation structures, deep foundations, structural concrete, and high-voltage electrical projects. The ideal candidate will lead the implementation and oversight of project-specific quality control processes, ensuring that all self-performed and subcontracted work is completed safely, in compliance with contract documents and regulatory standards, and to the highest level of workmanship and specification.

Key Responsibilities:

The QA/QC Specialist is responsible for implementing andmaintainingproject-specific Quality Control Plans and ensuring that all work complies with:

  • Contract documents and specifications
  • Owner and Engineer requirements
  • Applicable building codes and industry standards
  • OSHA and project safety standards
  • This role partners closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Field Crews, Subcontractors, Owners, and Engineers to proactivelyidentifyrisks, prevent rework, and protect project schedules and budgets.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders for compliance.
  • Conduct pre-installation meetings and quality planning sessions.
  • Support final project closeout and commissioning documentation.
  • Perform daily field inspections of self-performed and subcontracted work.
  • Ensure materials delivered to site meet approved submittals.
  • Track and verify resolution of punch list items.
  • Collaborate with field leadership to troubleshoot quality issues.
  • Prepare documentationrequiredforcertificationsand compliance.
  • Promote safety-first culture in all quality processes.
  • Ensure work methods align with safety standards and PPE requirements.
  • Integrate Job Safety Analysis (JSA) considerations into quality inspections.
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in civil infrastructure construction (water, wastewater, foundations, utilities, structural concrete, or electrical infrastructure preferred).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with quality documentation and field inspections.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field crews, management, and engineers.
  • Willingness to travel to active jobsites across Iowaand other states if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
  • Excavation & Underground Utilities
  • Process Piping & Mechanical Equipment Installation
  • Deep Foundations
  • High Voltage Electrical / Substation Construction
  • Knowledge of ACI, ASTM, AWWA, NEC, or other relevant industry standards.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
