PURPOSE

Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, the Senior QA/QC Specialist serves as an advanced quality professional responsible for independently leading the planning, coordination, execution, and documentation of quality requirements across multiple or complex Industrial projects. This position helps ensure work is completed in accordance with Baker Group's Quality Management System (QMS), contract requirements, client specifications, approved drawings, and applicable industry codes and standards.

PURPOSE

Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, the Senior QA/QC Specialist serves as an advanced quality professional responsible for independently leading the planning, coordination, execution, and documentation of quality requirements across multiple or complex Industrial projects. This position helps ensure work is completed in accordance with Baker Group's Quality Management System (QMS), contract requirements, client specifications, approved drawings, and applicable industry codes and standards.

The Senior QA/QC Specialist provides project-level technical leadership, identifies and addresses quality risk, leads quality reviews and corrective-action workflows, and supports timely project closeout. The role also mentors QA/QC Specialist I and II team members, trains project personnel, and recommends improvements to departmental processes while the QA/QC Manager retains responsibility for department strategy, personnel management, and final program governance.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior QA/QC point of contact for assigned complex, high-risk, or multi-discipline Industrial projects.
  • Review prime contracts, client quality requirements, project specifications, approved drawings, submittals, and applicable codes to identify quality obligations, risks, hold points, witness points, and required records.
  • Develop, review, and maintain project-specific Project Quality Plans, quality execution requirements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Inspection Test Reports (ITRs) in collaboration with the QA/QC Manager and project team.
  • Independently lead QA/QC kickoff meetings and recurring quality reviews to communicate requirements, inspection points, responsibilities, documentation standards, and closeout expectations.
  • Own assigned ITP workflows in Procore, including action plans, inspection coordination, status tracking, documentation review, approvals, and escalation of overdue or incomplete items.
  • Lead inspection planning and look-ahead activities to confirm personnel, procedures, materials, documentation, and third-party resources are ready before work begins.
  • Coordinate and participate in field and shop inspections, audits, surveillance activities, and quality reviews; document findings and verify timely resolution.
  • Lead the identification, documentation, evaluation, and tracking of non-conformance reports (NCRs), including containment, root-cause evaluation, corrective and preventive actions, disposition approval, and closure under the governance of the QA/QC Manager.
  • Recognize significant or recurring quality risks and promptly escalates matters that may affect safety, compliance, schedule, cost, client acceptance, or contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate quality requirements with project management, project controls, engineering, procurement, receiving, fabrication, field supervision, subcontractors, and the Shop QA/QC department.
  • Work with subcontractors and project teams to verify required tests, inspections, checks, qualifications, and supporting records are completed in accordance with contract and project requirements.
