Responsibilities

  • Sample Preparation — Prepare biological samples (plant, microbial, or environmental) for testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and chain‑of‑custody.
  • Experimental Setup — Set up controlled experiments such as germination assays, growth studies, or environmental response tests following established protocols.
  • Environment Monitoring — Monitor temperature, humidity, light cycles, and other environmental variables critical to biological growth and development.
  • Daily Observations — Record developmental stages, morphological changes, and biological responses at scheduled intervals.
  • Data Collection — Document measurements, counts, and observations accurately in laboratory notebooks or LIMS systems.
  • Quality Control — Follow internal and regulatory standards to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and reliability of biological tests.
  • Aseptic Technique — Maintain sterile conditions when handling biological materials to prevent contamination.
  • Equipment Operation — Operate incubators, growth chambers, microscopes, balances, and other laboratory instruments.
  • Troubleshooting — Identify issues such as contamination, equipment malfunction, or abnormal biological responses and elevate appropriately.
  • Sample Disposal — Dispose of biological materials and chemical waste according to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Documentation — Prepare summaries, reports, and data sheets for internal review or quality assurance.
  • Safety Compliance — Follow biosafety, PPE, and laboratory safety protocols to maintain a clean and compliant work environment.
  • Team Collaboration — Work closely with scientists, analysts, and supervisors to support ongoing research and testing schedules.
Qualifications
  • Biology, Biological Sciences, Environmental Science or any life science related bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous lab experience desired (academia experience is accepted)
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency
