Overview
Kemin is seeking a Sr. CLS Associate to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is responsible for executing and supporting Customer Laboratory Services (CLS), application research, and new product initiatives. Key responsibilities include developing project protocols to demonstrate product effectiveness in customer operations, partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, and Technical Services teams to identify new opportunities, and monitoring test progress while analyzing and summarizing data to validate results.

- Perform advanced problem solving and data analysis and accurately check large amounts of data.
- Develop, validate, and formulate advanced methods as applicable.
- Exercise independent discretion and judgment consistently with guidance from manager.
- Coordinate projects and oversee project teams as needed.
- Generate, interpret, and present accurate data consistently (internally and externally).
- Follow and generate SOPs and test protocols independently.
- Write technical reports.
- Operate advanced laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate on design of application research projects as applicable.
- Communicate product support and provide technical recommendations to customers (internal and external).
- Understand and support Kemin products and services as applicable.
- Follow, ensure, and monitor good laboratory and safety practices.
- Attend and present at trade shows, conferences, and participate in customer meetings as applicable.
- Assist with training of others.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Scientific Field with 5–7 years of related experience OR Associate’s Degree in a Scientific Field with 7–10 years of related experience.
- Food Science experience highly preferred.
- Strong understanding and adherence to Servant Leadership philosophy.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
- Advanced statistics and/or basic chemometrics.
- Advanced computer skills with MS Office, especially Excel formulas and graph creation.
- Detail‑oriented and able to multi‑task.
- Salary commensurate with experience and alignment with role requirements.
