The Regional Loss Prevention Manager serves as a key driver of Auto Zone’s mission to safeguard assets and promote operational integrity. By combining data-driven insights with hands-on leadership, this role proactively identifies risk trends, strengthens store compliance, and empowers teams to uphold safety and security standards. With broad regional oversight, the RLPM ensures loss prevention strategies are executed consistently while fostering a culture of accountability across all locations.
Responsibilities- Supervise and support LP personnel across the assigned region
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and exception-based reporting to detect trends and reduce loss
- Conduct internal and external investigations via phone or on-site visits
- Audit stores to ensure safety and loss prevention compliance
- Train store and field teams on loss prevention and safety procedures
- Monitor employee theft risks using POS data and reporting tools
- Recommend and implement LP policies and strategic initiatives
- Maintain and oversee security systems including alarm, CCTV, and EAS technology
- Ensure procedural compliance during new store openings, closings, and relocations
- Participate in regional meetings and maintain strong field presence
- Minimum 3 years of experience in retail loss prevention
- Proven experience managing multi-store LP responsibilities
- Ability to travel approximately 60% with occasional overnight stays
- Strong investigative skills, attention to detail, and operational know-how
- Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ), or Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) certification
- Wicklander-Zulawski or Reid Interviewing certification
- Background in retail operations, asset protection technology, or LP audits
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams
