Sales Internship - Group Benefits (Summer 2026) About the Job

Principal’s Group Benefits, Sales Internship Program (Summer 2026) offers an opportunity for interns to team up with the Group Insurance sales and account management team. Interns will provide sales support, assist with account management, and support intermediaries while learning how retirement and group insurance products are distributed and supported.

• Assist regional sales offices with territory sales and overall business unit success.
• Build positive relationships with internal and external partners.
• Partner with teams across the organization—including underwriting, new business, marketing, administration, product, sales, and compensation—to gain exposure and develop professional relationships.

• Currently pursuing or have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree.
• Active in extracurricular activities or community involvement.
• Interested in a career in sales.
• Willingness to travel is required.
• Preference for students with previous sales experience (internship, involvement, or work).

Salary ranges reflect targeted base salaries. Non‑sales positions may participate in a bonus program, while sales positions are eligible for sales incentives and a bonus plan. Total compensation may exceed base salary depending on performance. Specific compensation will be finalized at the time of offer based on geographic location, experience, education, and other factors.

Salary Range (Non‑Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly): $24 – $24 per hour.

Paid company holidays and any state‑required time off.

Travel will be required.
