Overview
The Customer Development Manager FMS is responsible for the management of assigned accounts in the Business Unit, educating and developing customer interest in Ryder services such as Full Service Lease, Programmed Maintenance, Lease Financing, Fleet Management Services, and Dedicated Contract Carriage, using the Ryder Sales Process.
Responsibilities- Maintain regular and consistent contact with customers to meet requirements.
- Develop sales penetration plan.
- Segment account base by opportunity for growth and potential risk.
- Present Ryder services and capabilities.
- Develop relationships with all customer buying influences.
- Develop complete understanding of customers business, goals and objectives.
- Work with RIL to develop opportunities for application of services.
- Serve as facilitator between customer and Ryder departments or vendors.
- Ensure contracted services are delivered.
- Orchestrate the development of a productive working relationship.
- Maintain appropriate customer contact.
- Understand and manage customer satisfaction perception, conduct scheduled reviews, monitor CSI results.
- Develop knowledge base of competitive alternatives.
- Contribute to effective transition of accounts sold.
- Proactively anticipate problems through continuous dialogue.
- Supply customers with operational performance information.
- Train and improve sales skills, industry knowledge, personal growth needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Problem solving, strong verbal/written communication, effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and leverage it to determine needs and solution matches.
- Ability to work within geographic and demographic environments.
- Ability to guide, engage, impart knowledge to others, mentor new sales employees.
- Independent work and teamwork, fully accountable.
- Flexibility, self‑driven, fast‑paced environment, multi‑tasking, highly organized.
- Excellent time‑management, detail oriented, follow‑up practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Transportation or equivalent.
- Five or more years of consecutive sales and customer relationship management experience.
- DOT Regulated experience.
- Outside Sales experience required.
Salary position. Eligible for annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan based on level and type.
