Job Summary
As a Construction Account Manager at Crescent Electric, you will create, maintain, and grow long‑term business relationships with customers. Your responsibilities include reaching sales and gross margin goals through prospecting, soliciting orders, identifying customer needs, and proposing solutions and products and services.
Responsibilities- Complete a business plan for assigned accounts in Crescent’s CRM tool.
- Develop a sustainable sales/profit volume in assigned territory.
- Regularly make in‑person sales calls to prospective customers and existing customer establishments.
- Introduce and demonstrate new products.
- Assist industrial customers with pricing bills of material.
- Utilize a conservative sales approach to sell products and services, offer add‑on and upsell products, and suggest alternative when a requested product is not available.
- Cultivate and maintain solid, long‑term relationships with construction customers and suppliers.
- Assist and resolve customer requests and/or problems promptly and professionally.
- Keep construction customers informed about all relevant company and vendor policies.
- Communicate competitive conditions, observed customer financial weakness, and customer feedback to management.
- Cooperate with suppliers to secure mutual business through joint sales calls.
- Execute sales efforts ethically and professionally, reflecting favorably on the reputation of both the salesperson and the company.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution; four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous knowledge of wholesale electrical distribution industry and construction sales experience.
- Valid driver's license with ability to travel up to 25% of the time with overnight stays.
- Comprehensive computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong product knowledge.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints and meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal and organizational skills; self‑starter; detail oriented; strong verbal and written communication.
- Standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, stooping; occasional sitting, talking, hearing.
- Use of hands/fingers, reaching, twisting, bending, and kneeling.
- Use of phone, computer, printer, keyboard.
- Lifting and carrying: 1‑20 lbs continuously; 21‑50 lbs frequently; 51‑100 lbs occasionally (assistance or mechanical devices advised).
- Vision requirements for driving: clear close vision (20 inches or less); clear distance vision (20 feet or more); peripheral vision; depth perception.
