Job Title: Carpenter

As a Carpenter, you will build and install temporary carpentry elements that support active construction projects. Your role will require maintaining a safe, organized work area and adhering to all site safety protocols. You will work efficiently with minimal supervision, ensuring timely completion of projects while effectively communicating and coordinating with the project team.

• Construct, install, and remove temporary stairs, ramps, railings, and bracing.
• Perform basic framing and blocking to support ongoing work.
• Measure, cut, and assemble materials using standard carpentry techniques.
• Inspect temporary structures to ensure stability and compliance with safety requirements.
• Load, unload, and stage materials for daily tasks.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
• Support general labor activities when carpentry needs are low.

• Proficiency with hand and power tools, including circular saws, chop saws, nail guns, levels, and drills.
• Ability to read basic construction drawings and follow verbal directions.
• Strong understanding of measurements, layout, and material handling.
• Experience in constructing simple, structurally sound temporary assemblies.
• Knowledge of job-site safety practices and proper PPE use.

• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Positive attitude toward collaboration.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• No formal carpentry or trade skills required; willingness to learn quickly is key.
• Physical ability to lift materials, climb ladders, and work on active construction sites.

You will be working on active construction sites with multiple trades present, requiring exposure to outdoor elements such as heat, cold, and rain. The role involves physical, hands-on tasks including lifting, carrying, and using tools in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

• The pay range for this position is $16.00 – $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Des Moines, IA.
