Job Description:

Seeking Commercial Electricians to support journeymen on large‑scale commercial projects throughout the Des Moines metro area. This role focuses exclusively on commercial electrical work, including running and bending conduit, pulling cable, installing fixtures, and supporting the build‑out of electrical systems in commercial facilities. Candidates should be eager to learn, committed to developing their skills, and willing to pursue formal electrical schooling with the goal of advancing in the trade.

• Assist journeymen electricians with day‑to‑day tasks on commercial job sites
• Run and bend conduit, pull cables, and install boxes, fixtures, and commercial electrical components
• Use hand and power tools safely and correctly
• Retain and apply skills taught on the job and in the classroom
• Read and interpret tape measurements accurately
• Support installation, rough‑in, and finish work on commercial electrical systems

• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16"
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division)
• Experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers
• Valid Driver’s License

• Prior experience on commercial electrical crews is a plus
• Experience with commercial rough‑in, finish work, or equipment installation is beneficial
• Ability to bend, twist, kneel, climb ladders, and work on feet for extended periods
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced commercial environment

• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with optional Saturday overtime
• Company emphasizes work‑life balance and does not push excessive overtime
• Dress code: jeans without holes, professional T‑shirts, and work boots
• PPE provided; apprentices must bring basic hand tools
• Position is primarily based in the Des Moines market, with optional travel opportunities to QC or Omaha if desired

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Des Moines,IA.
