About the PositionUnder the supervision of the Supervisor of Fleet Services & Fabrication Services, performs basic vehicle care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires; replacement or repair worn parts, including brake pads and tire and wheel installation.
- Lubricate chassis, hydraulic, and equipment parts, change oil and other fluids in gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Performs basic automotive repairs, including changing oil filters and radiator hoses, replacing defective light bulbs, battery cables, and windshield wiper blades.
- Assists mechanics, welders, and other skilled trades in performing maintenance and repairs to equipment.
- Rotates tires & inspects brake pads
- Fills, repairs, and changes tires.
- Installs tires and wheels including mounting, balancing, rotation, and replacement.
- Completes multi-point inspections on all fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Fills fuel tanks of heavy equipment in the field or shop with gasoline or diesel fuel.
- Assists with new vehicle set ups.
- Maintains fleet equipment files and manuals, repair records and work orders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
High School diplomaor G.E.D.equivalent
ExperienceTwo years’ work experience in automotive or equipment repair/maintenance.
ASE automotive certifications may be substituted for required experience.
Licenses/Certifications- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Commercial driver’s license, class B with air brakes within 90 days of appointment.
- This position requires Driver remain insurable under the Company’s coverage.
Must be at least 21 years old for this position.

- Knowledge of automotive, construction equipment, hydraulic systems, ground maintenance equipment, and small engines
- The ability to test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Basic HVAC knowledge & skills
- ASE automotive certification in at least one of A1-A8
- Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand English
