Pay & Benefits
  • Hourly Pay: $37.65 per hour
  • Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus:
    Up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
  • Sign On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours:

    Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Requirements
  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Vocational or Technical Certification/Post‑Secondary degree (preferred)
  • Basic tools (required)
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
    • Routine preventative maintenance – oil changes, brake and tire work
    • Diagnostics and repairs – AC, electrical systems
    • Advanced skilled level repairs – major engine repairs, diesel after‑treatment, automotive fuel injection (required)
  • Four (4) years or more relevant work experience (preferred)
  • Ability to read codes and instructions on a computer
  • Computer proficiency:
    Microsoft Word, Excel, internet and related applications
  • Maintenance computerized programs to create reports or communicate with customers, vendors and company representatives
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
  • All other certification as required by location (required)
Additional Requirements
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet Ryder’s driving qualifications
  • Minimum Tech II up to Tech IV qualifications plus at least 6 months supervisory or training experience
  • Flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, holidays and on‑call rotations for roadside assistance
  • Proficiency in SMO, SBT, payroll system, warranty recovery and employee handbook
  • Thorough understanding of unit utilization procedures
  • Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/Motor Vehicle check with drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Internal Candidates

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months in their current position and possess a record of good performance, attendance, safety and teamwork.

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Assist and train Technicians as needed, provide customer service to daily customers, and give feedback to the Service Manager on employee performance for appraisal or disciplinary purposes.
  • Oversee parts distribution & inventory, shop reporting, warranty recovery, unit tracking, payroll administration and other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.
