Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment at the Des Moines facility, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Education: 2‑year technical degree preferred.
- Experience: 1‑2 years electrical or mechanical experience preferred; must demonstrate working knowledge.
- Certification & Licenses: Ability to obtain and maintain forklift, overhead crane, and other required licenses.
- Functional
Skills:
Read/interpret blueprints, electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic schematics; operate overhead crane/forklift; knowledge of safer rigging principles. - Technology Aptitude: Basic math, Microsoft Office, maintenance software; knowledge of safety regulations.
- Language: Read, write, and communicate in English.
- Leadership / Behaviors: Collaborative, inclusive, customer‑focused, excellent interpersonal skills.
- Culture Matching Behaviors: Ethical, respectful, open communication, can‑do attitude.
- Occasionally lift and carry 30‑50 lbs.
- Work up to 12‑hour shifts.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Remain calm and act responsibly during emergencies.
- Lift and manipulate heavy equipment.
- Work in greasy, oily, dusty, or hot/cold environments.
- Work in awkward positions (bending, twisting, kneeling).
- Walk or stand up to 75% of the workday.
- Climb ladders and work at heights.
- Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, grasping, reaching, stretching, walking/standing.
- Manufacturing environment; must wear PPE.
- PPE includes long pants/shirts, steel‑toed shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, harness, hearing protection, gloves, welding, Arc Flash, respirator.
- Work in hot, noisy, oily, greasy, dusty conditions.
- Must work outdoors in hot/humid summer and very cold winter conditions.
- Work on wet surfaces (wash bay maintenance).
- Work at heights with fall protection.
- Work in tight spaces occasionally.
- Travel:
Rarely.
