Job Summary

As an Elite HVAC Technician and Home Comfort Specialist, you will serve as the frontline expert responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial HVAC systems with accuracy and professionalism. This senior-level role is built for a technician who consistently delivers first-time-right solutions and builds lasting trust with every customer interaction. Based in Des Moines, IA, this position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000–$150,000 for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose complex HVAC system failures accurately and efficiently, delivering reliable first-time repairs that minimize callbacks and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Install, maintain, and service heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential and commercial settings to manufacturer and code specifications.
  • Conduct thorough system inspections and preventive maintenance visits, identifying potential issues before they escalat​e into costly problems.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and repair options to customers in a clear, honest, and transparent manner that reflects a culture of integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues involving electrical components, refrigerant systems, airflow, and controls with confidence and precision.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and equipment documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Uphold all safety protocols, local codes, and EPA regulations on every job site without exception.
  • Collaborate with dispatch, customer service, and fellow technicians to ensure seamless scheduling, follow-through, and quality outcomes on every service call.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on HVAC service and installation experience at a journeyman or senior technician level.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal or applicable type).
  • Demonstrated track record of high‑quality, first‑time‑right workmanship with low callback rates.
  • Strong working knowledge of residential and light commercial HVAC systems including gas furnaces, heat pumps, central air conditioning, and ventilation.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Exceptional customer communication skills and a professional, integrity‑driven approach to every interaction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NATE (North American Technician Excellence) Certification in one or more specialties.
  • Experience with smart home HVAC controls, zoning systems, and connected thermostats such as Nest or Ecobee.
  • Familiarity with indoor air quality products including humidifiers, air purifiers, and ventilation systems.
  • Prior experience in a senior, lead, or mentor technician capacity.
  • Knowledge of local Des Moines, IA building codes and permitting processes.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced refrigerant handling, recovery, and charging techniques.
  • Electrical diagnostics including reading wiring diagrams, testing components, and troubleshooting control boards.
  • Proficiency with digital manifold gauges, combustion analyzers, and HVAC diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to work with a variety of equipment brands and systems including gas, electric, and heat pump configurations.
  • Basic proficiency with mobile service software or field management applications for work order management and documentation.
