Job Overview
Sr HVAC Technician – Des Moines, IA. Full-time. Federal Staffing Solutions Inc. is looking for a Senior HVAC Service Technician to support commercial and industrial projects across a diverse territory.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including hot water, DX, chillers, cooling towers, fan systems, VFDs, and low voltage controls.
- Conduct equipment inspections, start‑ups, commissioning, and preventative maintenance.
- Provide technical training and support to clients and team members.
- Identify opportunities for new services and solutions.
- Travel within the assigned territory (Dubuque to Waterloo, Burlington, Grinnell, eastern Iowa, western Illinois, Missouri to Minnesota).
- Maintain accurate service records using company laptop and mobile systems.
- 5+ years of HVAC experience with expertise in hot water, DX systems, chillers, VRV/VRF, and low voltage controls.
- Valid HVAC license and EPA certification.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Daikin training, experience with VFDs.
- Industrial refrigeration, technical training or certifications beyond high school.
- Willingness to travel within assigned territory.
- Previous experience in large‑scale commercial or industrial facilities.
