Grass Roots Equipment & Repair is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician to support our customers throughout Iowa and the Midwest. We specialize in heavy equipment repair, maintenance, rebuilds, diagnostics, rentals, and equipment sales.

• Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment in the field and shop
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, engine, drivetrain, and undercarriage systems
• Complete machine inspections and document repair recommendations
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding repair needs and equipment condition
• Maintain a clean and organized service truck and work area
• Complete service reports and work orders accurately and on time
• Travel to customer job sites throughout Iowa and surrounding states as needed

• 3+ years of heavy equipment repair experience
• Experience with brands such as Komatsu, Caterpillar, Deere, Volvo, Hitachi, Sennebogen, Liebherr, Liu Gong, or similar equipment
• Strong hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus

• Strong work ethic and self-motivation
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Positive attitude and customer-focused mindset
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work outdoors in varying conditions
• Must be dependable and punctual
