Field Mechanic

We partner with a wide variety of clients to provide mass grading, underground wet and dry utilities, excavation, and backfill services for residential and industrial construction projects in Iowa and Eastern Nebraska.

The Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy construction equipment and tractor-trailers at active job sites. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and drivetrain systems to ensure safe and reliable operation. The mechanic maintains accurate service records, communicates regularly with the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize repairs, and ensures compliance with safety and DOT requirements.

This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in demanding outdoor environments while traveling to multiple job sites.

Applicants should expect to work primarily in Central Iowa with additional trips across Iowa and Eastern Nebraska. Most travel is day trips with occasional overnights (
