Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is hiring a Technician II to maintain and repair a fleet of vehicles. The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and use of diagnostic tools.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
  • Performing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision and in a timely manner.
  • Repairing and troubleshooting components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel system components, and more.
  • Keeping the work area clean and safe.
  • Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
  • Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training.
  • Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications
  • 3 years of practical vehicle maintenance experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
  • Specialized training and experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) and OEM training courses.
  • ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to solve problems and provide excellent customer service and communication.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work in non‑controlled conditions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies.
  • Full attendance required.
  • Current driver qualification file required; compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Willingness to travel within the district and work required schedules.
Physical Requirements
  • Must move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
  • Hands used routinely for grasping, reaching, handling tools and controls.
  • Must work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
  • Must work in all weather conditions.
  • Must see and hear clearly to navigate the work environment safely.
  • Must regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg). Ability to push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 pounds is required.
