At SWAT Environmental, we install Radon Mitigation Systems to protect homes and businesses across the nation from the harmful effects of Radon
, which is a naturally occurring, radioactive gas that escapes when uranium in the soil decays and can become concentrated in a home, seeping through cracks and openings in the foundation (basements). The EPA recommends that structures testing above 4 pCi/L have a Radon Mitigation System installed.


** We are seeking candidates that live within 15 miles of Des Moines, IA - 50309**


** Company van provided to take home daily / Paid Training & Certification**

  • Company will provide a “take‑home” vehicle on 1st day
  • Tech will be required to travel to Minnesota to complete 4 weeks of training
  • Company will pay for any hotel stays
  • Once trained, Tech will start each day from home to work within a 100-mile radius.
Essential Functions:
  • Inspect homes and work with customers to determine the most effective placement of radon mitigation systems.
  • Install radon mitigation systems by drilling holes, cutting & running PVC pipes, installing fans, and sealing holes.
Who Qualifies?

Required by the State of Iowa - The applicant must possess 3 years of relevant professional work experience and/or 2 years of relevant post‑secondary education can be substituted for work experience.

Relevant professional work experience includes the design or construction of buildings, or associated heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems, or closely related activities approved by the State of Iowa.

  • Heating & Cooling (HVAC) installation and/or maintenance
  • Plumbing installation and/or maintenance
  • Carpentry framing, finishing, installation and/or maintenance
  • Remodeling installation and/or maintenance
  • Electrical installation and/or maintenance
  • Roofing installation and/or maintenance
  • Concrete‑basement pours, slab on grade, driveway‑side walk building construction related installation
  • Brick laying (Masonry) installation and/or maintenance
  • Maintenance relating to building construction
  • Trenching relating to building construction
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Travel for training and work assignments as mentioned above
  • Lift and carry a 60lb ladder at 40ft and above
  • Work in confined spaces (turn, twist, bend, stoop, reach)
  • Acquire and maintain the required certifications (paid training)
  • Communicate well with customers in their homes
  • Operate drill, hole‑saw, coring drills and other hand tools safely
  • Use technology (mobile phones, tablets, laptops)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving history
  • Company vehicle and tools (take home daily)
  • On‑the‑job paid training and certification
