Job Title

Installs, repairs, services and performs preventative maintenance of equipment, i.e. refrigerators, ice machines, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

Position Purpose

Installs, repairs, services and performs preventative maintenance of equipment, i.e. refrigerators, ice machines, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

Essential Functions

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health and Mercy One Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Installs, maintains, services and performs preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment and systems. As assigned, may perform general plumbing repair and installation on a variety of supply and exhaust systems. As assigned, maintain and repair a variety of pneumatic and electric equipment related to the trade.

Troubleshoots assigned areas and/or equipment. Specializes in repair, preventative maintenance and service of refrigeration equipment. Must possess the ability to comply with Mercy One and Trinity Health policies and procedures. Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to them as they change frequently. Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful, with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.

Other duties as needed and assigned by maintenance leadership. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other Trinity Health and Mercy One policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. CFC Refrigeration Transition and Recovery Certificate Specialized or technical training (e.g. high school or shop courses or by a relatively brief period of intensive preparation outside of school) Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Two years of' experience or training in specialized and general areas of maintenance. Knowledge of general maintenance work, including plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical systems.

Valid Iowa Driver's/Chauffeurs License required, with an accident-free driving record for the last three years and at least 18 years of age. Proof of current personal automobile insurance as required by Iowa law. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health and Mercy One.

  • Walking:

    Using upper extremities to press against something to force forward or backward.
