As a Field Service Technician I at The Filter Shop in Des Moines, Iowa, you will be responsible for providing basic on-site service and support to customers. This role is an entry-level position that assists in the installation of filters in commercial and industrial HVAC systems, both indoors and outdoors – including rooftops. The Technician I is expected to follow established procedures, demonstrate a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction, and develop foundational technical skills to advance within the field service career ladder.
- Assist in the installation of filters at customer sites according to standard procedures.
- Document service activities, including work performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in clean and working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and company policies during all service activities.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure service quality.
- Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or supervisors for resolution.
- Participate in training programs to build technical knowledge and service skills.
- Support inventory management by tracking parts usage and reporting shortages.
- Other Accountabilities as Assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50lbs and work in various environments and conditions.
